Chemistry Teacher Marking

BHSOH began in 1999, with only 3 teachers and 30 students in a small Thai house on a rural highway in Mae Pa village, outside Mae Sot city. As applications from migrant families grew, Child’s Dream Foundation agreed, in 2014, to build us a temporary compound on several acres of rice and sugarcane fields outside town. There are now seventeen full-time teachers and staff in our BHSOH Learning Center, most of whom are graduates from Myanmar schools, though some have graduated from schools in the migrant area. Most of our teachers left from Myanmar because of political and economic concerns. We have various cultures and religions represented among our teaching staff, as we do with the students. We are now providing full-time education for over 300 students, from Kindergarten to Grade-12, and we also serve them all a hot and nutritious lunch every day. We hold classes 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday, from June to the following March, except on Thai and Myanmar national holidays. Our priority is for our students to develop properly in every aspect, and to graduate well-prepared for their desired futures.
